The mission of the Foundation is to support development of engineers and technical personnel through selective motivational awards, prizes and scholarships, grants for educational activities of unique and high value and professional educational programs. AFCEA Educational Foundation	AMVETS annually awards scholarships to veterans, their sons, daughters or grandchildren. A son, daughter or grandchild of a deceased veteran is also eligible. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and financial need, the scholarships go to deserving high school seniors, high school JROTC students and veterans pursuing a higher education. The Army College Fund (ACF) is an enlistment incentive option designed to aid in the recruitment of highly qualified Soldiers for critical or shortage Military Occupational Specialties (MOS). The ACF supplements the basic Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) entitlement. Army College Fund (ACF)	The LRP is a special enlistment incentive that the Army offers to highly qualified applicants at the time of enlistment. Why this school is the right choice for a military member and/or their family
In 1971, Central Michigan University began its Off-Campus Programs to serve the needs of military personnel. Today we have centers at 23 military bases across the country and serve a large military population with our online courses as well. CMU offers a quality education and a caring environment to all our military students, their spouses and dependents. Many of our faculty and staff are retired military which facilitates their understanding when working with military students and helping them achieve their goals. They have an amazing record of educating a large number of our military leaders. Over 140 admirals and generals have earned their degrees through CMU’s Off-Campus Programs. Former Chief of staff of the Army, General Peter Schoomaker and the current Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General Norton A. Schwartz, are both CMU graduates. CMU offers a variety of scholarships including several specifically for military members and their dependents. These include the U.S. Armed Forces Award established to honor severely injured military personnel who have incurred injuries while serving in combat on behalf of the United States or the spouse of a severely injured service member, the U.S. Armed Forces Textbook Award, and two new military targeted scholarships, the General Dynamics Land Systems Scholarship and the Dr. Jay Griesser Endowed Scholarship which will also soon be awarded to military students, their dependents and federal employees. CMU has been named a top military friendly school by both Military Advanced Education Magazine and GI Jobs Magazine.

Central Michigan University Off-Campus Programs is dedicated to keeping our military tuition rate as low as possible. Military tuition discounted rates are available to active U.S. military including National Guard and reserve; active duty military spouses and dependent children; military retirees; honorably discharged veterans; and Department of Defense (DoD) employees who are admitted to select Off-Campus Programs. Current military tuition discounted rates: $250 per credit hour for covered undergraduate degree programs $265 per credit hour for covered graduate degree programs This rate applies to classes taken face-to-face at our local centers or online. the military tuition discounted rates apply to CMU Off-Campus undergraduate and master\'s degree programs that do not exceed the base undergraduate ($338 per credit hour) and graduate ($446 per credit hour)rates.
